sugoi & saikou

i like watching japanese dramas. cuz to me the storyline is very good, despite what type of genre it is. and also because the ending is sometimes unpredictable and surprising. it's not like the way we want it to end, not like most of korean dramas.

anyway, i've listed some of my favourite japanese dramas yang bukan love story. *wink*

it's more to suspense, and these four dramas are definitely brilliant. :)

KUROSAGI (THE BLACK SWINDLER)

Yamashita Tomohisa plays Kurosaki, a young man whose family was destroyed by swindlers. Despite that, Kurosaki grows up to become a con artist known as Kurosagi. As Kurosagi, he swindles other con artists and returns the money to the original victim. He works with the master swindler Katsuragi Toshio (Yamazaki Tsutomu) even though Toshio had a hand in the destruction of Kurosaki’s family.

Kurosaki's life begins to change when he meets Yoshikawa Tsurara (Horikita Maki), a young law student who disapproves of his disrespect of the law. Can she persuade Kurosaki to give up swindling and his quest for revenge?

LIAR GAME

Based on the manga series of the same name, Toda Erika plays an honest college student, Kanzaki Nao, who receives a hundred million yen one day, along with a card saying she has been chosen to take part in the "Liar Game". The aim of the game is to trick the other players out of their hundred million dollars. At the end, the winner gets the hundred million and the loser is a hundred million yen in debt. The next day, she receives notification that her opponent is her former teacher, Fujisawa Kazuo. She goes to him, seeking help, but ends up getting tricked into handing her money over. Desperate, she approaches the police for help, but they are unable to do anything. However, she is told of a mastermind swindler, Akiyama Shinichi, who is to be released from jail the next day. Desperate, she goes to him for help.

MAOU

Ryo Naruse (Satoshi Ohno) is a two-faced lawyer: on the surface, he is a kind-hearted soul, representing the poor and earning the nickname "The Angelic Lawyer" from the press; but unbeknownst to anyone else, he is also a "devil," meticulously plotting the perfect revenge against those responsible for his younger brother's death. Naoto Serizawa (Toma Ikuta) is a gung-ho detective whose overzealous methods mask a dark past which he is trying to overcome. When a family acquaintance of Serizawa's is murdered, Serizawa is thrust in the middle of a multiple-homicide case which stirs up memories of a dark event from his past - and Naruse's.

BLOODY MONDAY

Takagi Fujimaru is a genius hacker facing off against a terrorist organization.

After a mysterious virus kills off a segment of the Russian population, Fujimaru has been recruited by the PSST to find out what happened in Russia when Third-I PSST agents had recovered an unknown memory stick containing files of the incident.
